Dear Players and Parents,
We have a special Volleyball clinic opportunity Saturday April 6 th from 9:00am-12:00pm for girls
featuring NYU Head Coach, Andrew Brown and William Paterson University Head Coach, Kevin
Rodgers. Both coaches, along with at least one other college coach (Depending on numbers)
will be stopping by our gym in North Haledon to run a semi-private clinic with a 30 min recruiting
talk at the end. The clinic is being capped at the first 32 players and will take place on two
courts. The clinic is open to all ages and will introduce players to NYU and college branded volleyball. Similar clinics have typically filled up in about two weeks.
The three hours will be broken up into two parts. The first breakout being position based and the
second breakout will be team offense/defense. For the second part, players will rotate courts
and get each college coaches unique perspective on how they coach their college programs.
Andrew Brown was hired as head coach of the New York University women’s volleyball team in
January 2018. His teams have posted a .786 winning percentage at NYU.
The Violets were ranked #4 in the final poll of the season released by the American Volleyball
Coaches Association (AVCA) for the second year in a row, while Brown and his student-athletes received numerous awards from AVCA, the University Athletic Association (UAA) and the College Sports Communicators (CSC). He also finished the season in the NCAA Final Four two years in a row. Brown was named AVCA Region 4 Coach of the year for the second year in a row. His player, Grace Nelson, was named the national Rookie of the Year in 2023 and he has coached several All-Americans throughout the last few years. He has also won his conference
championship two of the last three years in one of the toughest conferences in the nation.
Kevin Rodgers was named head coach of the William Paterson volleyball program in August of 2021. After a little over two years at the helm of the William Paterson volleyball program,
Rodgers was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Coach of the Year. During the 2023 season, he earned the most wins in program history at 26. A record that stood since 1988.
He also coached William Paterson’s first All-American and the program’s first conference Defensive Player of the Year. Two of his players also broke two single season records and four
of his players made all-conference this past season. The most players William Paterson has voted into all-conference in over two decades. Rodgers was also named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Coach of the Year in 2019 when he was at East Stroudsburg
University and won a championship there for the first time in 32 years.
Rodgers has coached at the collegiate level since 2009 at NJCU (Men’s and women’s), Ramapo College (Men’s), FDU-Madison, FDU-Metro (D1), Bucknel(D1)l, East Stroudsburg(D2) and William Paterson(D3). During his career he has amassed over 200 wins as a head coach.
After the two and a half hour on court clinic Coach Brown and Rodgers will lead a 30 minute recruiting talk about how to sell your brand. Additionally, will answer questions and give directions in navigating the competitive college recruiting process. Parents are also welcome to
the recruiting talk.

Hello players and parents! For the first time in NJVBC history, we are hosting a clinic where two college head coaches will lead the charge!
Fun fact: Both coaches have been with NJVBC before! Coach Kevin Rodgers (William Paterson) is an NJVBC alumni, who played here in 2004 and 2005. Coach Andrew Brown (New York University) coached our travel teams here from 2010 – 2012.
