Please read all of the information below carefully! Registration opens:

• Those who tried out for a travel team get early access beginning three days before the general public.

Our practice-only, non travel team is our most popular program here at NJVBC. Teams fill very fast. There is no tryout required – it is first come, first serve.

Registration is online only. 

Space is limited! 22 players per court

Sundays from January 3 – April 5. We skip Superbowl Sunday (Feb 14th). We also skip Easter (March 28th). There will be no practice team on those days.

Practice only, non travel teams

Cost: $450

One and a half hour long practice sessions once a week (Sundays only)

Split by age and level

Please do not sign your child up for more than one time slot. We have a lot of players on our list. If we find you have signed up for more than one time slot, we will remove your child from the program entirely.

Cost includes:

• 12 Sundays at 1.5 hours each: 18 hours of instruction
• Club T-shirt

What does a practice team session look like?

• The session is an hour and a half long. Typically, it is 45 minutes of drills, 45 minutes of play to reinforce what we learned during the drills. This schedule can vary week-to-week. Some drills take longer, some drills are shorter. However, the general idea is drills followed by gameplay.

My child’s age does not match their level. For example, my child is 16, but a beginner. What should I sign them up for: 13-15 beginner, or 14-16 intermediate?

• The purpose is for all players to grow together at the same level. The age is less important than the level. Please sign them up for the level you feel they are most appropriate for. Remember that the coaches will move them to another level if they feel it is necessary for their development.

Beginner – Best for players with 0 or 1 years of competitive experience. Meant for players with no, or little, understanding of the competitive aspects of the game. Beginners are taught the fundamentals of all elements of the game, and rotations are kept on a beginner level.

Intermediate – Best for players with around 2 years of experience. Players know the basics, but want to build towards the JV  high school level. More advanced serve receive rotations are taught.

Advanced – 3 or more years of competitive experience. Players know the fundamentals and rotations at a high level. Offensive plays and defensive schemes are taught. Players should be at a varsity level and able to perform their primary position at a high level consistently. Players will be moved down to the intermediate level if they cannot perform the basics of their position consistently.

Coaches may re-assign players to another level as they see fit. Parents, please work with us on that. Moving down is not a punishment. Additionally, moving up is a sign of progression.

You can pay in full or via payment plan. More information will be released as we get closer to registration.
